TOP OF SHOW ANIMATION

The Seranata Colorado Restaurant and Cantina was the pride and joy of Candelario Serrano. He built the restaurant from the ground up and gave their small town a taste of true Mexican authenticity. Sunsets and Margaritas is a story about family, personal growth, forgiveness, loss, and progression versus tradition. We watch as the set comes to life, helping the characters to find their truths. A mysterious portrait, a poorly lit “Virgen de Guadalupe” statue, and an Aztec warrior mural that could use some touching up will leave the audience wondering what is real, and what is illusion? Comfort and conflict simultaneously describe the space as the cantina simultaneously represents Candelario’s traditional values against the family’s individual yearnings for something of their own. With the strong and proud bones of Candelario’s Mexican heritage dressed with his daughter-in-law’s Cuban flare, tension grows up the stucco walls encasing the family in powder keg situation that could explode at any moment.
